Shirley Marie Cruse Hale Green, age 73, of Tuscumbia, passed away on Sunday, September 8, 2013, at St. Mary's Health Center in Jefferson City. She was born in Cape Girardeau on August 5, 1940, daughter of the late William and Cleotha (Skinner) Cruse. On August 13, 1977, in Meta, Shirley married Dewey Francis Green, who preceded her in death on August 5, 2013.
She survived by four children, Cheryl Ruble and husband Gary of Fenton, Richard Hale of Olive Branch, Illinois, Cathy Marriott of Jefferson City, and Dawn Hale of Warrensburg; two step-daughters, Cathi Schmieg and husband Brian of Fults, Illinois and Janet Hayes and husband Bob of Linn;; 14 grandchildren, Danielle Sipi, Gary Ruble Jr., Ashtin Hale, Anthony Hale, Tiffany Stephens, Ryan Stephens, Jennifer Marriott, Alicia Luebbering, Christopher Luebbering, Caleb Luebbering, Taylor Luebbering, Breanna Luebbering, Gabriel Reynolds, and Benjamin Reynolds; five step-grandchildren, Cody Rohlfing, Autumn Gleich, Jonathan Hayes, Tyler Hayes, Matthew Hayes; 12 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Linda Sutton, Cathy Smith, Vickie Poppen, and Bonnie Allen; and several nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Harry Cruse; one daughter, Deborah Luebbering, one grandson, Richard Lee Hale, and one great-grandson, Gavin Stephens.
Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, September 13, at St. Thomas Knights of Columbus Hall. Rev. Dr. Patrick "Rick" Ramsey will officiate. Interment will be in Capps Cemetery near St. Elizabeth.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday September 12, at the St. Thomas Knights of Columbus Hall.
