Shirley Ann (Kemna) Luebke, age 85, passed away on Sunday, July 18, 2021, at Miller County Care and Rehabilitation Center in Tuscumbia. She was born in St. Elizabeth on August 13, 1935, daughter of the late Theodore and Wilhemina "Minnie" (Rehagen) Kemna. On August 23, 1982, in Hillsboro, MO, Shirley was united in marriage to Richard Elvin Luebke, who preceded her in death on December 29, 2011.
Shirley grew up in the St. Elizabeth rural area and following graduation from St. Elizabeth R-IV she moved to the St. Louis area where she worked at various businesses. Her final career was as a switchboard operator at Hillsboro Area Hospital where she retired on August 15, 1997. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan, never missing a chance to tune in to watch their games.
She is survived by two stepsons, Gary Luebke of Chicago and Rich Luebke of St. Louis, and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by her siblings, Lawrence Kemna, Lorraine Buschjost, Irene Buechter, Marie Kemna, Steve Kemna, and Eleanor Eppers, and stepson, Steve Luebke.
A private family inurnment will be held at St. Lawrence Cemetery in St. Elizabeth.
