Sid Schaffer, age 49, of Jefferson City, passed away Sunday, May 16, 2010, at his home. He was born in Iberia on September 11, 1960, son of John Joseph and Patricia Ann (Osterman) Schaffer.
He was a former member of the 257 Electrical Union and a member of the National Rifle Association. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating, motorcycling, traveling, and playing music. Sid was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church.
He is survived by his father, John Schaffer; one uncle, Fred Schaffer and wife Brenda of Iberia; one aunt, Dee Kempker of Sedalia; and many cousins and close friends.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Schaffer on April 30, 1969, and his mother, Patricia Schaffer on September 25, 2003.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with a Mass of Christian Burial immediately following at 1 p.m., on Thursday, May 20, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in St. Anthony. Rev. Mark Porterfield will officiate. Interment will be in St. Anthony Cemetery.
