Simon "Sam" Herigon, age 88, of Jefferson City, passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2012, at St. Mary's Health Center in Jefferson City. He was born in St. Thomas on December 19, 1923, son of the late Theodore and Sophie (Prenger) Herigon.
Simon served in the United States Army from 1945 until his honorable discharge in 1947. He was a member of the American Legion Post 5 and a lifetime member of the NRA. He worked at Von Hoffmann Press until his retirement. Simon was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church in Jefferson City.
He is survived by one brother, Ray Herigon and wife Marcella of St. Martins and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by one infant sister, Florence Herigon.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m., with Mass of Christian Burial immediately following at 11 a.m., on Tuesday, May 8, 2012, at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in St. Thomas. Rev. Mark Porterfield will officiate. A private family graveside will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to St. Thomas the Apostle School.
