Sydney Sue Perkins, age 51, of Iberia, died Wednesday, May 23, 2007, at her home. She was born in Iberia on February 23, 1956, daughter of Earl and Marguerite (Burch) Sherrell. On April 11, 1974, in Iberia, she was married to Herbert Ray Perkins, who survives at the home.

She lived and worked on the family farm. She loved gardening and raising companion pets. She was a member of the Iberia First Baptist Church.

Other survivors include two daughters, Jessica D. Whittle and husband, Shawn and Jennifer S. Pemberton and husband, Daniel; one son, Timothy E. Perkins and wife, Shyla; one sister, Joyce Burd and husband, Don; mother-in-law, Jessie Lam; five grandchildren, Klayton and Elliot Whittle, Adeline and Augustus Perkins, and Chesni Pemberton all of Iberia; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Calvin and Carl Sherrell; and one grandson, Michael Whittle.

Services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 26, at the Iberia First Baptist Church. Rev. Glen Golden will officiate. Interment will be in Brays Cemetery near Iberia.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Friday at the church.
