Sylvia Edrie Howser Irwin, age 95, of Iberia, died Tuesday, February 3, 2009, at Lake Regional Hospital. She was born in Camden County on October 2, 1913, daughter of George Marion and Rebecca (Cotton) Howser. On November 10, 1928, in Old Linn Creek, she married Willie Martin Irwin, who preceded her in death on January 7, 1977.

She is survived by two daughters, Evelyn Atwill of Iberia and Eva Phillips of Harvester; 11 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; two sister in-laws; and numerous family and friends.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; one son, Theodore "Ted" Irwin; two great-grandsons, Brandon Wallace and Kenneth Atwill; and seven brothers and sisters.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. with services immediately following at 12 noon on Saturday, February 7, 2009, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Bro. Gene Edwards will officiate. Interment will be in Iberia Cemetery.
