Teddy Lee Jones, age 77, of Brumley, passed away on Monday, July 10, 2023, at Osage Beach Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center.  He was born in Columbus, Ohio, on August 18, 1945, son of the late Robert "Bob" and Hazel (Jewell) Jones.  On August 18, 1988, in Richland, Teddy was united in marriage to Mary Durham, who preceded him in death on May 30, 2011.

Ted served in the U.S. Marine Corps from January 10, 1966, until his honorable discharge on January 9, 1970.   He owned and operated the Brumley Garage for many years.

He had the soul of a mountain man who could be described as a compassionate man with an empathetic nature.  Ted had a kind heart and enjoyed sharing a good joke.  He was an avid runner, enjoyed bull riding, and tended to African lions.  Ted lived life to the fullest and never took a day for granted.

He is survived by two daughters, Debbi Jones and Jeanette Jones; son, Mark Jones; stepson, Terry Rowden; five grandchildren, Daniel, Haley, Brooke, Heston, and Paige; two sisters, Joyce and Dolly; and numerous family and friends.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by his son, David Jones and two granddaughters, Sheila and Jada.

A graveside service with military honors will be held at 11 a.m., on Friday, July 14, at Mt. Union Cemetery in Brumley with Warren Mitchell officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia.
