Obituary

Thelma Faye Duncan, age 89, of Dixon, died Saturday, February 17, 2007, at her home. She was born in Meta on April 10, 1917, a daughter of the late Arthur and Katie (Breeding) Wilson. On November 24, 1938, in Vienna, she was married to Clinton Dora Duncan, who preceded her in death on November 1, 1988.

Thelma was a loving mother. She taught school in the Iberia area and also owned and operated alongside her husband the Iberia IGA for several years. She was a member of the Campground Christian Church in Vancleave.

Those who survive her include: one daughter, Linda Jeffries and husband Bill of Oak Leaf, Texas; one grandson, William Brent Jeffries of Oak Leaf, Texas; one granddaughter, Stephanie Lynn Prewitt of Midlothian, Texas; eight great grandchildren and four sisters, Goldie Brune of Brinktown, Mildred Veasman of St. Elizabeth, Virginia Ripka of Granite City, Illinois and Shirley Lough of St. Louis.

One son, Eugene Duncan, preceded her in death on May 25, 1997 and two brothers, Leonard Wilson and Arthur Munrow Wilson, also preceded her in death.

Visitation will be from 1-3 p.m. on Thursday, February 22, with services immediately following at 3:00 p.m. at Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Rev. Manuel Seaton will officiate. Interment will be in Duncan Cemetery near Dixon.
