Thelma Marie Meredith, age 100, of Iberia, passed away peacefully into the loving arms of her savior, on Friday, February 5, 2021, at her home, surrounded by her family and loved ones. She was born in Brumley on November 11, 1920, daughter of the late Oliver Floyd Wall and Estella Marie (Hutsler) Wall. On October 25, 1947, in Brumley, Thelma was united in marriage to Dorrell Paul Meredith, who preceded her in death on January 14, 2013.
Thelma was a homemaker her entire life. In her early years she taught school at the old Barton School House and worked at the Sunflower Powder Company in Kansas City, along with her cousin and best friend, Dorothy Greene, during World War II.
Thelma was a lady of many talents, enjoying hanging wallpaper for years and cleaning houses. She was an avid reader and loved hiking, playing cards, working puzzles, and watching game shows. She dearly loved her children and grandchildren and treasured their many visits to her family home. Thelma never knew a stranger and enjoyed being around people. She had a zest for life and will be missed by so many family and friends.
Thelma lived a long and blessed life, obtaining the age of 100 years, a feat that she was honored to reach and would say "that can't be true". She was a devoted member of Mt. Union Church of Christ.
She is survived by three children, Paula Meredith of Jefferson City, Steve Meredith (Colleen) of Jefferson City, and Terry Pahlmann (Jeff) of Iberia; daughter-in-law, Ramona Meredith of Jefferson City; nine grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; brother, Larry Wall of Brumley; and numerous family and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her son, Phillip Meredith and siblings, Clay Wall, Clark Wall, Nyle Wall, Wanda Diedriech, Lindell Wall, Glenn Wall, and Wayne Wall.
Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., with services immediately following at 11 a.m., on Saturday, February 13, 2021, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia with Brandon Kissinger officiating. Interment will be held in Hawkins Cemetery near Brumley.
