Theodore "Ted" Wayne Irwin, age 77, of Lake Ozark, died Tuesday, January 2, 2007, at Lake Regional Hospital after a 3½ year battle with lung cancer. Ted was born in the Horseshoe Bend area prior to the construction of Bagnell Dam on October 31, 1929, son of Willie and Sylvia (Houser) Irwin. On June 3, 1950, in Tuscumbia, he was married to Ruby Brown.
Ted grew up in Iberia where he attended the Spearman School and Iberia High School. He was employed for 23 years as the Plant Superintendent for Stanton Novelty Company in Lake Ozark. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, hunting and farming.
Those who survive Ted include: his wife of 56 years, Ruby Irwin, of the home; three daughters, Sharron Wolf and husband, Richard of Oklahoma City, OK, Susan Bloomquist and husband Richard of Minnetrista, MN and Sandy Washburn and husband, David of Rogers, AR; four grandchildren, Amy Wolf Krueger and husband Michael of Lee's Summit, Brian Wolf of Lafayette, IN, Eric Washburn of Springfield and Emily Washburn of Rogers, AR; two great grandchildren, Zachary Wolf and Jackson Krueger, both of Lee's Summit; three step-grandchildren, David Bloomquist and wife Kimberly and Patrick Bloomquist and wife Shawna all of Prior Lake, MN and Stephanie Krueger and husband Jason of Delano, MN; 9 step-great grandchildren, Tayler, Hailey and Tristen Krueger all of Delano, MN, Abbey, Amanda, Carter, Chase, Peyton and Finn Bloomquist all of Prior Lake, MN; his mother, Sylvia Irwin of Iberia; two sisters, Evelyn Atwill of Iberia and Eva Phillips of St. Charles and 13 nieces and nephews.
His father, Willie Irwin, preceded him in death in 1977 and nephew, Billy Bartsch, also preceded him in death.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 6, at Rekus Funeral Home, 902 East North Street, Eldon Missouri, (573)392-3351. Rev. Ron Lehenbauer will officiate. Interment will be in Eldon City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Friday and from 10-11 a.m. on Saturday at Rekus Funeral Home in Eldon.
