IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Thomas Jacob
Lyon
October 27, 1994 – August 2, 2024
Thomas Lyon, age 29, of Brumley lost his life on the night of August 2, 2024, in Panama City Beach, Florida. His last act was heroically sacrificing his life to save the lives of his family from being hit by a car.
Thomas was born on October 27, 1994, son of Charles and Barbara (Krueger) Lyon. On July 31, 2023, he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Makenzie Witt, who survives at their home.
Thomas was a 2013 graduate of Waynesville High School. Following graduation, he worked at Maximum Remodeling for several years before starting a career with Midwest Roofing. He considered his co-workers as extended family.
Thomas had a larger-than-life personality and was always willing to help others in need. His life revolved around his wife and daughters, who were his whole world. He shared his love for the outdoors with his daughters, taking them fishing and creating tender memories with each activity they did. His family and friends will remember him for his cringy dad jokes and his devotion to loved ones, especially children, loving them as if they were his own.
In addition to his wife, Makenzie Lyon, those left to treasure his memory and continue his legacy are his two young daughters, Quinn and Ivy and his unborn child. He is also survived by his parents, Charles and Barbara Lyon; one sister, Patricia Cope and husband Donovan; brother Stephen Lyon and wife Stephanie; father and mother-in-law, Mike and Shawna Witt; two sisters-in-law, Madison Barnfield and husband Dillion and Mercedes Witt; brother-in-law, Mason Witt and wife Haley; seven nieces and nephews Hudson, Oakley and Saylor Barnfield, Danni and Mylo Witt, and Colton and Bristol Lyon; grandmother-in-law, Rachel Kelley, and numerous friends and family.
