Thomas "Tom" Peter Lueckenotte, age 87, of St. Thomas, passed away Monday, August 30, 2010, at his home. He was born in St. Thomas on December 21, 1922, son of the late John and Mary (Bock) Lueckenotte. On May 3, 1947, in Freeburg, Tom was united in marriage to Mary Ann Pope, who preceded him in death on April 19, 1992.
Tom was the second youngest of eleven children. He was a retired carpenter and farmed all his life. Tom was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Over 50 Club, and Jefferson City Area Bowling Hall of Fame.
He is survived by three children, Patricia Hutchcraft and husband Larry of Jefferson City, Wanda McGlade and husband Tim of St. Thomas, and Ron "Chic" Lueckenotte of St. Thomas; one granddaughter, Jamie McGlade; three step-grandchildren, Philip Hutchcraft, Allison Stansbury, and Evan Hutchcraft; two great-grandchildren, Megan and Dylan; two sisters-in-law, Hilda (Emil) Lueckenotte and Rose (Clete) Lueckenotte; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded by five brothers, Louis, Felix, Emil, Isadore, and Cletus; and five sisters, Helen Merz, Rose Enders, Veronica Veit, Regina Grandcolas, and Laurentia Lueckenotte, who passed away during infancy.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 3, 2010, at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church. Rev. Mark Porterfield, Rev. Daniel Lueckenotte, and Rev. David Veit will officiate. Interment will be in St. Thomas Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 – 8 p.m., with a prayer service at 7 p.m., on Thursday, September 2, at the St. Thomas Knights of Columbus Hall.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the St. Thomas Knights of Columbus.
