Thomas W. Yates, age 63, of Iberia, passed away Wednesday, December 16, 2009, at Lake Regional Health System. He was born in St. Louis on November 21, 1946, son of the late Charles and Lucille (Rogers) Yates. On September 2, 1989, in Foristell, Thomas married Rita Marie Himmelsbach, who preceded him in death on February 18, 2007.

He was a member of the UAW and Brotherhood of the Third Wheel. Thomas worked for Ford Motor Company for 30 years until his retirement.

He is survived by two sons, Shane Yates of Iberia and Douglas Yates and wife April of Wright City; one daughter, Carmen Flowers and husband Bruce of Warrenton; nine grandchildren, Kyle, Tori, Austin, Brandon, Joe, Deven, Marissa, Kyler, and Colton; two brothers, Bill Yates and wife JoAnn and Donnie Yates and wife Robin; and four sisters, Delores Bufford and husband Greg, Patsy Aubuchon and husband Donnie, Elaine McAllistar and husband Jeff, and Betty Willis.

Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m., with a memorial service immediately following at 11 a.m., on Monday, December 21, 2009, at Iberia Church of the Nazarene. Rev. Greg McClain will officiate.
