IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Timothy Earl
Perkins
March 20, 1976 – February 4, 2024
Timothy "Tim" Earl Perkins, age 47, of Iberia, passed away on Sunday, February 4, 2024. He was born in Tuscumbia on March 20, 1976, son of Herbert "Herb" Ray and Sydney Sue (Sherrell) Perkins. On March 12, 2001, in Cancun, Mexico, Tim was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, Shyla Perry, who survives at home with their three children.
Tim owned and operated T&S Electrical Services and was widely respected in the community for his wealth of knowledge and strong work ethic. He took great pride in caring for his cattle farm and gardening, but his greatest passion in life was his family. Shyla was the love of Tim's life and his partner in every aspect. He was his daughters' first love and his son's hero, giving his endless support and encouraging their every ambition in life.
On August 5, 2018, Tim was baptized at New Salem Baptist Church in Dixon, where he remained a faithful member. Countless stories of good times shared with family and friends and lasting memories of Tim will be cherished for generations to come. He will largely be remembered for being an honorable and humble man, who would do anything for others and leaves behind a legacy of a life well lived.
In addition to his loving wife, Shyla Perkins, he is also survived by his three children, Adeline "Addie" Perkins, Augustus "Gus" Perkins, and Claira Perkins; father, Herbert (Elaine) Perkins; sister, Jennifer (Daniel) Pemberton; father and mother-in-law, Rodney and Sandy Perry; brothers-in-law, Tyler (Kyla) Perry and Shawn Whittle; aunt, Joyce (Don) Burd; his beloved canine companion, Belle; and numerous nieces, nephews, and countless friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Sydney Perkins and sister, Jessica Whittle.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with service immediately following at 2 p.m., on Wednesday, February 7, at the First Baptist Church in Iberia. Interment will be held in Brays Cemetery near Iberia.
