Tony M. Jackson, age 63, of Tuscumbia, died Monday, August 28, 2006, at Capital Region Medical Center. He was born in Kansas City on September 9, 1942, a son of the late Ernest A. and Edith Evelyn (Whipple) Jackson. On June 30, 1978 in Stover, he was married to Carolyn Flaugher who survives at the home.
Tony was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Miller County VFW Post # 2442 and Freedom of the Road Riders Local 21 District 5. He also attended the Tuscumbia Christian Church.
Others who survive him include: three sons, Shawn Jackson of Shreveport, Louisiana, Ronnie Ahart, Jr. and wife Bonnie of Eugene and Tommy Ahart of Tuscumbia; one daughter, Kimberly Whitaker and husband Donald of Ft. Irwin, California; six grandchildren, Buddy, Alex and Michael Ahart, Shandi Whitaker, Malari Ahart and Leah Jackson; one sister, Sherry Roy and husband Lewis of Houston, Texas; two brothers, Bruce Jackson and wife Mary of Yuma, Arizona and Jack Jackson and wife Jean of Fortuna and five nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 1, at Rekus Funeral Home in Eldon. Bro. Larry Schraer will officiate. Interment with military honors under the direction of VFW Post # 2442 will be in Tuscumbia Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday at Rekus Funeral Home in Eldon.
