Obituary
Tonya Sue Wilson, age 50, of Iberia, passed away on Monday, July 4, 2016, at University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia. She was born in Bloomfield, Iowa, on January 5, 1966, daughter of Richard and Janet (Tharp) Meyer.
Tonya worked as a waitress at the Hummingbird Restaurant in Iberia and also helped run the daily operations.
Tonya was a 1984 graduate of Iberia High School. She was a member and past secretary for the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post 105. She was also a member of Hickory Point Baptist Church near Iberia.
She is survived by one son, William A. Wilson of Iberia; her parents Richard and Janet Meyer of Iberia; four siblings, Timothy Meyer and wife Elizabeth of California, Teresa New of Russellville, Tracey Meyer and wife Lori of Columbia, and Thomas Meyer of Columbia; two grandchildren, Caleb Parrish of Jefferson City and Hailey Wilson of Iberia; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Stephanie Wilson.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m., with a memorial service immediately following at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 8, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Cliff Baucom will officiate. Inurnment will be held at a later date in Union Cemetery near Iberia.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Tonya Wilson Memorial Fund.
