Trent Yoakum, age 48, of Dixon, passed away on Monday, December 9, 2013, at his home. He was born in Columbia on January 5, 1965, son of the late Simon and Ruby Inez (Lawson) Yoakum. On January 7, 1990, in Stover, Trent married Shelly Marie Duncan, who survives at the home.
He is also survived by three children, Haley Ballard and husband Scotty, Hunter Yoakum, and Trenton Hayden Yoakum all of Dixon; two grandchildren, Inez Ballard and Sidney Ballard both of Dixon; six brothers, David Roberts and wife Pat of Jefferson City, Ralph Yoakum and wife Sharron of Iberia, Cliffty Yoakum and wife Linda of Dixon, Junior Yoakum and wife Ginger of Dixon, George Yoakum and wife Angel of Dixon, Robbie Yoakum and wife Deana of Dixon; three sisters, Faydee Dunlap and husband Louis, Roberta Juergens and husband Mike of Vienna, and Rhonda Keeling and husband Waylon of Dixon; and several nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by twin infant brothers.
Service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, December 13, at New Salem Baptist Church near Dixon. Bro. Art Gormley will officiate. Interment will be in Williams Cemetery near Dixon in Maries County.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, December 12, at the church.
