Trudi Joan Brune, age 55, of Meta, passed away on Tuesday, May 23, 2023, at her home. She was born in Jefferson City on August 16, 1967, daughter of Margaret (Heckman) and the late Hubert Brune.

Trudi was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Meta.

Trudi loved her family and always wanted to be just like her many brothers and sisters. She graduated from Fatima High School in 1988 with her sister, Ruthie. After high school she went to work at Capital Projects for almost 34 years, where she met new friends and made the money she loved to spend on lottery tickets. Trudi was one of the original residents at John Stratman Apartments in Linn, MO. She loved her independent living, but also loved going home to visit her Mom on the weekends.

Anyone who knew Trudi, knew she loved Scooby Doo, word search puzzles, bowling, fried chicken, and Mountain Dew. She had a carefree spirit most of us would like to have.

In addition to her loving mother, Margaret Brune, she is also survived by 10 siblings, Carol (Ambrose) Luecke of Folk, Mary (Kenny) Luecke of Folk, Dave (Eileen) Brune of Meta, Rick (Peggy) Brune of Rich Fountain, Lisa (Leon) Luecke of Folk, Lauri (Mark) Luebbering of St. Thomas, Steve (Karla) Brune of Westphalia, Gina (Kevin) Thoenen of Loose Creek, Ruthie (Todd) Eichholz of Westphalia, and Bryan (Kristi) Brune of Freeburg; 34 nieces and nephews, 38 great-nieces and great-nephews with two on the way; and numerous family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Hubert Brune.

Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., with services immediately following at 11 a.m., on Friday, May 26, at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Meta with Fr. Leonard Mukiibi officiating. Interment will be held in St. Cecilia Cemetery.
