Obituary

Truman "Short" Bilyeu, age 89, of Kaiser, passed away Tuesday, November 10, 2009, at Miller County Care and Rehabilitation Center in Tuscumbia. He was born in Miller County on October 24, 1920, son of the late Denver and Lizzie (Kaiser) Bilyeu. On July 16, 1944 in Camdenton, Truman married Leslie Lee Snelling, who preceded him in death on July 25, 1991.

He was a life long resident of Miller County and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. Truman was a deacon at New Hope Freewill Baptist Church in Kaiser for many years.

He is survived by two daughters, Alma Byrd and husband Ralph and Ilene McKinnon and husband Kenneth both of Brumley; six grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

He was also preceded in death by one son, Cliff Bilyeu, three brothers, and two sisters.

Visitation will be held from 12 (noon) – 1 p.m., with services immediately following at
1 p.m., on Friday, November 13, 2009, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Interment will be in New Hope Cemetery in Kaiser.
