Urban George Voss, age 88, of St. Anthony, passed away on Wednesday, April 25, 2018, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Rich Fountain on August 17, 1929, son of the late John and Nettie (Lindenbusch) Voss. On September 29, 1956, at St. Cecilia Church in Meta, Urban married Betty Wansing, who survives at their home.

Urban served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was honorably discharged on November 2, 1951. He worked for the Miller County Road and Bridge Department until his retirement in 1991. He was a life member of the Iberia VFW Post 6167 and St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in St. Anthony.

In addition to his loving wife of 61 years, Betty Voss, he is also survived by five children, Linda Wieberg and husband Walter of Iberia, Debbie Hurst and husband Jim of Meta, Carol Wieberg and husband Alvin of Argyle, Rick Voss and wife Paulette of St. Elizabeth, and Randy Voss and wife Lisa of Iberia; 14 grandchildren, John Voss, Russell Voss, Matthew Wieberg, Jeremy Wieberg, Carl Wieberg, Logan Hurst, Lydia Hurst, Whitney Lutes, Preston Wieberg, Ashley Voss, Emily Voss, Jenna Voss, Ryan Voss, and Sarah Wieberg; 16 great-grandchildren; four brothers, Charles Voss, Bernard Voss, Mark Voss, all of St. Anthony and Paul Voss of Independence; and one sister, Mary Murray of Ballwin.

He was preceded in death by one son, Ron Voss on February 16, 1991.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, April 30, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church with Fr. Joby Thomas officiating. Interment with military honors will be in St. Anthony Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m., with a prayer service at 7 p.m., on Sunday, April 29, at St. Anthony Parish Hall.
