(Keeth) Pemberton
June 7, 1935 – August 9, 2020
Verna Lee (Keeth) Pemberton, age 85, of Iberia, passed away on Sunday, August 9, 2020, at Miller County Care and Rehabilitation Center in Tuscumbia. She was born in rural Iberia on June 7, 1935, daughter of the late Eather and Malone (Allee) Keeth. On October 11, 1979, in Miami, Oklahoma, Verna was united in marriage to Harold Pemberton, who preceded her in death on June 18, 1995.
She enjoyed genealogy research and some of her favorite pastimes included photography, quilting, and square dancing. Verna was a woman of faith and was a member of Fairview Christian Church in Iberia.
She is survived by five children, Russell Cardwell (Denise), Greg Cardwell, Jeanine Blankenship, Kevin Cardwell (Ruth Ann), and Gary Pemberton (Kelly); 16 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by three siblings, Margie Lois Tupling, Ina May Thompson, and Don Keeth; one great-grandchild, Dylan James Bias.
Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., with a memorial service immediately following at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, August 12, at the First Christian Church in Iberia with Bro. Stan Way officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date in Curry Cemetery near Iberia.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to Curry Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia.
In accordance with the CDC recommendations facial masks are encouraged for those attending the visitation and service.
