Obituary

Vernon Franklin Beal, age 83, of Iberia, passed away on Tuesday, November 8, 2016, at his home. He was born in Miller County on December 6, 1932, son of the late Thurman Otto and Bertha Marie (Lee) Beal.

Vernon served in the United States Navy and was stationed in Japan during the Korean War. Following his military service, he worked construction, oil refineries, and at Ft. Leonard Wood.

He enjoyed reading and was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing, hunting, trapping, and raising animals. Vernon served his Lord by ministering for over 40 years. During his final years, Vernon lived with his youngest daughter, Robin and her husband James Cawthon.

He is survived by three daughters, Patricia Lynn Morrow and husband Robert of Richland, Wanda Jean Fournier and husband Gary of El Dorado, KS, Robin Rene Cawthon and husband James of Iberia; one son, Michael Ray Beal and wife Tina of Derby, KS; one sister, Ruth Ash of Brumley; many beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Evelyn Diane Humig; one sister, Evelyn Beal, and two brothers, James Ray Cary and Billy Otto Beal.

A Celebration of Life with a potluck lunch will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, November 13, at the Brumley Lions Club.
