Vincent "Bink" McDowell, age 65, of Iberia, passed away on Friday, November 10, 2017, at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City. He was born in Camdenton on November 1, 1952, son of the late Malcolm Charles and Minnie Pearl (Ahart) McDowell. On January 22, 1972, in Camdenton Bink married Peggy Byrd, who survives at their home.
Bink along with his wife, Peggy, owned and operated B&M Store in Brumley for 26 years. He was a founding member of the Brumley Fire Protection Department.
Bink enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting, fishing, and farming. He also loved to sing and play his guitar. Bink was a beloved husband, father, grandpa, brother, neighbor, friend, and will be missed by all who were blessed to know him.
In addition to his loving wife, Peggy, he is also survived by five children, Jeff McDowell and wife Robin, Melissa Berry and husband Mike, Matt McDowell and wife Meagan, Ethan McDowell and fiancée Lindsey, and Mindy Lee and husband Greg all of Iberia ; nine grandchildren with two on the way; three sisters, Marilyn Myers and husband Ronnie of Halfway, Joyce Mann of Camdenton, and Karen Cooper and husband Darrell of Eldon; and two brothers, Willard McDowell and wife Rita of Ulman and Myron McDowell and wife Brenda of Brumley.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Winston McDowell and Ronald McDowell.
Service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, November 14, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia with Bro. Ralph Byrd officiating. Interment will be held in New Hope Cemetery in Kaiser.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday, November 13, at the funeral home.
