Vincent "Rip" McGinnis, age 89, of Bella Vista, Arkansas, formerly of Eldon, died Sunday, October 7, 2007 at his home. He was born in Proctor, Missouri on January 24, 1918, a son of the late William Charles and Mary Ellen (Gerlt) McGinnis. On July 16, 1938 in Kansas City, Kansas, he was married to Lucille Johnson, who preceded him in death on January 24, 1998. On December 3, 1999, he was married to Myra Gass, who survives him in Denham Springs, Louisiana.

Others who survive him include: one son, Michael McGinnis and wife, Carolyn, of Bella Vista, Arkansas; 4 grandchildren: Brett J. McGinnis, Michael S. McGinnis, Nichole L. Canton, and Adam N. McGinnis; 8 great grandchildren: Hunter McGinnis, Michael Canton, Logan McGinnis, Tristan Canton, Summer McGinnis, Sebastian McGinnis, Jozef Messner, and Jazlynn McGinnis.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, October 11 and from 1-2 p.m. on Friday, October 12 at Rekus Funeral Home in Eldon with services immediately following at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Louis Elseman will officiate. Interment with military honors will be in Dooley Cemetery near Eldon immediately following the service.
