Obituary

Viola Martha Holtmeyer, age 55, of St. Anthony, passed away Wednesday, August 6, 2008, at her home. She was born in Jefferson City on June 23, 1953, daughter of Victor John and Rita Marie (Groner) Otto. On August 31, 1974, in St. Thomas, she was united in holy matrimony to Daniel J. Holtmeyer, who survives at the home.

She was valedictorian of the 1971 graduating class of Blair Oaks High School. She was employed by the Department of Natural Resources until deciding to become a stay at home mom and doing in home daycare which she enjoyed for 30 years. She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. She was a devoted wife and wonderful mother and grandmother.

Other survivors include two daughters, Lisa Maylee and husband Darryl of New Bloomfield, and Connie Gladden and husband Ronnie of Iberia; two grandchildren, Kale Anthony Maylee and Aubrey Ann Maylee both of New Bloomfield; her parents, Victor and Rita Otto of St. Thomas; two sisters and five brothers, Virginia Holtmeyer and husband Roman of Meta, Leroy Otto and wife Linda of Meta, Norman Otto and wife Vallie Don of St. Thomas, Jeanette Goeller and husband Andrew of St. Thomas, Doug Otto and wife Karen of St. Thomas, David Otto and wife Sara of St. Thomas, and Michael Otto and wife Cheri of St. Thomas; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Tammy Lynn Holtmeyer in December 1997.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 9, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in St. Anthony. Rev. Francis Stuart, OSB, and Rev. Clarence Wiederholt will officiate. Interment will be in St. Anthony Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Friday at the St. Anthony Parish Hall with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m.
