Virginia Louise Baker, age 91, of Iberia, passed away at her home surrounded by her loved ones on Monday, July 14, 2014. She was born in Fillmore, Illinois, on May 2, 1923, daughter of the late George Washington and Anna Ethel (Cundiff) Rowe. On May 24, 1941, Virginia was united in marriage to Willard Dennis Baker, who preceded her in death on August 19, 1991.

Mrs. Baker worked as a homemaker raising her children and caring for her home. She was baptized into her faith early in life. She enjoyed working on puzzles, dining out, and going to yard sales with her daughters and grandchildren. She loved spending time with her family. Precious memories of Mrs. Baker will long be remembered in the hearts of her dear family and all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by five sons, Jerry Baker of Dixon, Dean Baker and wife Nancy, Ronnie Baker and wife Lori, Doug Baker and wife Linda, and Keith Baker and wife Lisa all of Iberia; two daughters, Joyce Akery of Dixon and Debbie Barnett of Iberia; one son-in-law, Wayne Ray of Dixon; one sister, Loretta Pankey of Iberia; nineteen grandchildren; thirty-five great-grandchildren; and eleven great-great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Janet Ray; infant twins; great-grandchild, Brenna Russell; three brothers, Alfred Rowe, Charley Rowe, and Art Rowe, four sisters, Juanita Buschen, Dorothy Tripp, Lorraine Goforth, and Lydia Pointer; and one son-in-law, James Akery.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with services immediately following at 1 p.m., on Wednesday, July 16, 2014, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Bro. Justin Skiles will officiate. Interment will be in Little Flock Cemetery near Vienna.
