Vonda Lee Hutsler, age 75, of Iberia, passed away after a short bout with cancer on Wednesday, February 25, 2009, at her home. She was born in Crocker on June 18, 1933, daughter of Oscar and Margaret (Walters) Duncan. On June 11, 1955, in Crocker, she married Jewell "Bud" Hutsler, who preceded her in death on April 2, 2003.

Vonda worked at Waynesville Clinic for Dr. Ogdan DeWitt Sr. for 30 years. She started her nursing career at St. Mary's Health Center in Jefferson City. She was a member of Crocker Christian Church.

She is survived by one daughter, Debra D. Fortner and husband David of Sullivan; one nephew, Bill Easter of Dennison, Texas; one niece, Donnie Easter of Houston, Texas; and close friends, Wilma Rowden of Iberia and Norma Hodge of Marshall.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Bob and Lowell Duncan; and one sister, Ethel Easter.

Visitation will be from 2-3 p.m. on Saturday, February 28, 2009, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. A graveside service will immediately follow at 3:00 p.m. at the Iberia cemetery. Bro. Duncan Skiles will officiate.
