Waid McCubbin, age 90, of Iberia, passed away surrounded by his family, on Tuesday, March 10, 2020, at Miller County Care and Rehabilitation Center in Tuscumbia. He was born in Miller County on December 24, 1929, son of the late Leonard and Thelma (Forester) McCubbin. On June 22, 1957, in Iberia, Waid married Jewel Humphrey, who preceded him in death on January 26, 1999.

Waid loved trucks and homemade ice cream with his family. He enjoyed having a cup of coffee at the local restaurant in Iberia catching up with friends. Waid attended the Assembly of God Church.

He is survived by one son, Darrell McCubbin and wife Lisa; two daughters, Debbie Mattoon and husband Lee and Melba Farnham and husband Kerry; seven grandchildren, Mark, Shane, Derek, Kody, Andy, Alex, and Jason; 11 great-grandchildren with one due in July; two brothers, Norman and Donald McCubbin; and three sisters, Martha Jean Fletcher, Lora Lea Barlow (Jim), and Darlene Groff (Gene); and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, infant son, Gary Dale McCubbin; twin brother, Wayne McCubbin; and two sisters, Eula Mae Rustemeyer and Lorene Woods.

Visitation will be held from 1 to 3 p.m., with service immediately following at 3 p.m., on Friday, March 13, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia with Bro. Chip Sanders officiating. Interment will be held at Union Cemetery near Iberia.
