Wanda Rowden Coons, age 58, of Meta, died in a motor vehicle accident in St. Thomas on Thursday, August 8, 2013, along with her husband, William Coons, and grandson Shadrach Rowden. She was born on June 1, 1955, daughter of the late Claude and Susie (Thompson) Reeves. On August 1, 1976, Wanda married Melvin Rowden, who preceded her in death on May 1, 2004.
She is survived by three sons, Eugene Rowden and wife Angie of Vienna, Mark Rowden and wife Tina of Dixon, and Michael Rowden and wife Holly of Meta; one daughter, Susie Mac Cash of Meta; 15 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and four sisters, Debbie Franks of Vienna, Ruth Adkins of Jefferson City, Melissa Kitson of Freeburg, and Rebecca Atterberry of Eldon.
A graveside service will be held at a later date at Melvin Rowden Family Cemetery near Meta.
