Wanda Lee McKee Copeland, age 91, of Dixon, passed away on Thursday, May 1, 2025, at her home. She was born on August 26, 1933, daughter of the late Jack and Jewel (Sloan) Dake. On October 3, 1953, Wanda was united in marriage to John "Dean" McKee, who preceded her in death on May 16, 1996. On October 13, 2001, Wanda was united in marriage to Burl Copeland, who preceded her in death on October 30, 2022.
Wanda had a rewarding career as a homemaker for most of her life and later went to work in the dietary department at Iberia R-V. She had a passion for crocheting and knitting, creating countless afghans and blankets as cherished keepsakes for her family. She enjoyed cooking and baking for her family, creating loving memories around the dinner table during their Friday night dinner get-togethers at Wanda's house.
Wanda was a woman of deep faith who cherished her family above all else. Her legacy of love and devotion is carried on through her children, stepchildren, and numerous grandchildren. Wanda was a devoted member of Campground Christian Church.
She is survived by three children, Sharon (Sam) Pendleton of Dixon, James "Jim" (Reta) McKee of Iberia; Michelle Luttrell of Iberia; daughter-in-law, Sally McKee; four stepchildren, Kerry (Sheila) Copeland, Kenny (Kelly S.) Copeland, Kelly (Christel) Copeland, and Keith (Marion Tilley York) Copeland; grandchildren, Kayla (Josh) Runyan, John Luttrell, Sam McKee, Grace McKee, Justin Luttrell; one great-granddaughter, Brooklee Runyan; several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; brother, Jackie (Judy) Dake; and a host of family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Jack and Jewel Dake, and husbands, John McKee and Burl Copeland, she was also preceded in death by two sons, John McKee and Bill McKee, and three siblings, Bob Dake, Lois Copeland, and Alice Humphrey.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 (noon), with services immediately following at 12 (noon), on Saturday, May 3, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia with Bro. David Parrett officiating. Interment will be held in Dake Cemetery near Iberia.
