Wanda Lee (Kelsay) Mote, age 95, of Iberia, passed away on Wednesday, February 3, 2021, at Miller County Care and Rehabilitation Center in Tuscumbia. She was born in Miller County on May 21, 1925, daughter of the late Henry Willard Kelsay and Velva Lacy (Forrester) Kelsay. On June 24, 1951, in Pulaski County, Wanda was united in marriage to James Mote, who preceded her in death on March 1, 2020.

Wanda graduated from the Iberia Junior College in 1945 and graduated from Southwest State College with a bachelor's degree in business administration. She later taught school for 2 years. She was an active member of Hickory Point Baptist Church where she taught Bible School and the W.M.U. She also served as treasurer for the church for 7 years.

She worked at various places including the housing office for civil service at Fort Leonard Wood, the office for the state president of Oklahoma Extension Service, and as secretary president and membership chairman of the American Legion Post 105 in Iberia.

She is survived by four sons, Sherrill Mote (Vicki), Dewayne Mote (Kathy), Lyndon Mote (Cindy), and Glen Mote (Wynnette) all of Iberia; eight grandchildren, Ilana Morgan, Josiah Mote, Isaac Mote, Seth Mote, Rachel Mote, Heather Mote, Austin Mote, and Brianna Mote; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Joyce Jarrett of Iberia; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by two brothers, John Kelsay and Samuel Kelsay.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 3 p.m., with services immediately following at 3 p.m., on Saturday, February 6, 2021, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia with Brian Duncan officiating. Interment will be held in Hickory Point Cemetery near Iberia.
