Waunetta L. Brown, age 84, of Columbia, passed away March 15, 2007 at Boone Hospital Center. Waunetta L. Meredith was born in Iberia on June 27, 1922, a daughter of the late James Clint and Anna Meredith. On April 29, 1989, in Springfield, she was married to Alfred Perry, who survives at the home. She was previously married to Uel "Doc" Brown for a number of years and he preceded her in death.

Waunetta worked for several years in the nursing profession in her younger years and was also an accomplished seamstress, crafting clothing for many people over the years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in St. Charles, Missouri for 45 years.

Others who survive her include: one brother, Gail C. Meredith of Centralia, Missouri; one sister, Pauline Stark of Eldon, Missouri; two nieces, Kay Lewis of Columbia, Missouri and Dee Morgan of Washington, Missouri; two nephews, Mark Stark of Lake Ozark, Missouri and Ronald Stark of the state of California and several great nieces and nephews.

One younger sister, Geneva Meredith, also preceded her in death.

Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. on Monday, March 19, with services immediately following at 2:00 p.m. at Rekus Funeral Home in Eldon. Rev. Jay Quinn will officiate. Interment will be in Eldon City Cemetery.

The family would like to thank Boone County Hospital and Lenoir Woods who provided care for her over the past several months during her illness.
