Obituary

Wendell Bryan Karr, age 79, of Lenexa, Kansas formerly of Iberia, passed away on Wednesday, October 21, 2015, at his home. He was born in Iberia on March 3, 1936, son of the late John Thurston and Evelyn Elzora (Scott) Karr. On January 8, 1959, in Olathe, Kansas, Wendell married Frances Edith Wilkerson, who survives at the home.

Wendell served in the United States Navy from 1954 until his honorable discharge in 1958.

Wendell always enjoyed his trips to Iberia where he would spend time on his family farm. He was an avid quail and pheasant hunter.

In addition to his wife, Frances Karr, he is survived by two daughters, Becky Whaley and husband Duane of Baldwin, Kansas and Debbie Snyder and husband Kirk of Pleasant Hill; three granddaughters, Jessica Crawford, Emily Deere, and Sarah Stewart; one grandson, Jack Bryan Snyder; one great-granddaughter, Kinley Crawford; and one sister, Joy Flaugher and husband Harold of Rocky Mount.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Lowell Karr.

Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m., with services immediately following at 2 p.m., on Sunday, October 25, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia, MO. Bro. Stan Way will officiate. Interment will be in Curry Cemetery near Iberia.
