Wesley D. Jeffries, age 58, of Ulman, passed away on Thursday, October 19, 2023, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.  He was born in Tuscumbia on November 24, 1964, son of Homer Daniel and JoAnn (Brown) Jeffries.  On December 12, 1987, Wes was united in marriage to Linda Hedrick, who survives at their home.

Wes was a 1983 graduate of Tuscumbia High School.  He was employed as a corrections officer for 30 years at Missouri State Penitentiary and Jefferson City Correctional Center.  He was later employed as a custodian for the Eugene School District.    Wes enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and took great pride in his grandchildren, who were the light of his life.

In addition to his loving wife, Linda Jeffries, he is also survived by his daughter, Misty (Randy) Mabee of Ulman; three grandchildren, Riley, David, and Helen; mother, JoAnn Jeffries; mother-in-law, Paula Hedrick of Ulman; two sisters, Tonia (Ross) Thompson of Fortuna and Kathy Jeffries of Ulman; sister-in-law, Beverly (Davyjo) Teague; grandmother-in-law, Erma Martin; Dave Smith of Ulman, who he thought of as a brother; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Homer Jeffries; father-in-law, Harold Hedrick; sister-in-law, Brenda Hedrick; nephew, Branden Hedrick; and maternal and paternal grandparents.

Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Sunday, October 22, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, October 21, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia.
