William V. Alexander, age 95, of Rocky Mount, died Tuesday, September 30, 2008, at Lake Regional Hospital. He was born in Harrisburg, Arkansas on May 16, 1913, a son of the late Lee and Annie (Thompson) Alexander. On March 15, 1933, in Poinsett County, Arkansas, he was married to Susie Alice Presley, who preceded him in death on September 24, 1984.

Those who survive him include: five children, Robert Alexander and wife Desda of St. Louis, Don Alexander and wife Elaine of Rocky Mount, Patsy Bloom and husband Bill of Palmyra, Virginia, Ralph Alexander and wife Phyllis of Columbus, Indiana and William Paul Alexander and wife Gaile of Wildwood; 18 grandchildren; one brother, Sam Alexander of Brush Prairie, Washington and one sister, Iris Brock of Hillsborough.

Two children, Betty Anderson and Joe Alexander, two sisters, Nellie and Elsie and one brother, James, also preceded him in death.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. with services immediately following at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 2 at Rekus Funeral Home in Eldon. Pastor Trevor Hayes will officiate. Interment will be in Eldon City Cemetery.
