William "Bill" Luttrell, age 84, of Blue Springs formerly of Miller County, passed away on Thursday, November 28, 2013, at Villages of Jackson Creek in Independence. He was born in Brumley on November 3, 1929, son of the late Virgil and Rena (Luttrell) Rook. On March 29, 1948, in Tuscumbia, Bill married Verna Joan Cochran, who preceded him in death on June 27, 1987.
Bill was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a devoted husband to his wife Verna of 39 years and father to his children. He was a member of the Plaza Heights Baptist Church.
He is survived by one son, William Jr. Luttrell of Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania; four daughters, Sherry Edwards and husband Garry of Flemington, Velma Peoples and husband Steven of Grain Valley, Judy Amsbaugh and husband Bill of Oak Grove, and Joan Cartee and husband John of Grain Valley; nineteen grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren with one on the way; and several nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
He was also preceded in death by one brother, James Lee Rook; one sister, Beaulah Buesing; and one infant son, David Louis Luttrell.
Visitation will be from 12 to 1 p.m., with services immediately following at 1 p.m., on Tuesday, December 3, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Bro. Warren Mitchell will officiate. Interment will be in Mt. Union Cemetery near Brumley.
