Obituary

William Junior Hensley, age 91, of Lebanon, passed away on Saturday, January 21, 2017, at Christian Health Care of Lebanon North Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born in Iberia on July 21, 1925, son of the late William Colmer and Lottie Livonia (Woody) Hensley. On December 23, 1950, in Belle, Junior married Vada Lucille Duncan, who survives at the home.

Junior honorably served in the United States Navy during World War II on the USS Ommaney Bay aircraft carrier. He worked as a dairy farmer from 1957 until 1971 and then continued to farm until 1990.

In addition to his loving wife, Vada Hensley, he is also survived by three children, Debbie Hutton and husband Ellis of Billings, Michael Hensley and wife Belinda of Eldon, and Danny Hensley of Lebanon; six grandchildren, Heather Harter of Billings, Juanita Lemire of Brumley, Allen Hensley of Eldon, Matthew Hensley of Eldon, Keshia Hensley of Eldon, and Anjeanete Hensley of Eldon; 11 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Louise Wilkes of Florrisant.

He was preceded in death by one grandson, Michael John Hensley; two brothers, Bob and Wendell; and two sisters, Faye and Rosalee.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with services immediately following at 1 p.m., on Tuesday, January 24, 2017, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Ralph McClurg will officiate. A private interment will be held at a later date at Curry Cemetery near Iberia.
