William "Bill" Stegeman, age 31, of Meta, died Thursday, January 26, 2006, at St. Marys Health Center. He was born in Jefferson City on March 15, 1974, a son of Leroy and Betty (Grellner) Stegeman. His parents survive in Meta.

He was a cattle farmer and a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church in St. Elizabeth.

Other survivors include: two brothers, Don Stegeman and wife Karen of California and Ray Stegeman and wife Jeane of Vienna; five sisters, Janie Bauer and husband Steve of Freeburg, Debbie Caminiti and husband Terry of Westphalia, Linda Light and husband Bill of Freeburg, Brenda Spell and husband Alan of Columbia, and Vicki Muenks and husband Cory of Frankenstein; 23 nieces and nephews and one great-niece.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 28, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in St. Elizabeth. Rev. Francis Stuart, OSB, will officiate. Interment will be in St. Lawrence Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Friday at Rekus Funeral Home in Meta with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m.
