Wilma Martin, age 85, of Ulman, died Friday, January 23, 2009, at St. Elizabeth Care Center. She was born in Ulman on May 22, 1923, daughter of Will and Cora (Davenport) Patterson. On November 20, 1941, in Kansas City, Kansas, Wilma married Herbert Martin, who preceded her in death on August 10, 1993.

Wilma was a member of Tuscumbia Baptist Church.

She is survived by one daughter, Patricia A. Angel of Sophia, North Carolina; two sons, James E. Martin of St. Elizabeth and Herbert E. Martin of Dyersburg, Tennessee; two sisters, Camilla Dake of Iberia and Marie Wilson of Eldon; four grandchildren, Kristal Hall of Randleman, North Carolina, Steven Martin of Tuscumbia, Megan Martin of Jefferson City, and Margo Martin of Columbia; five great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter, Lawanna Angel; brother, Joe Patterson; and sister, Dora Belle Huffman.

Services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 25, 2009, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Rev. David Visser will officiate. Interment will be in Tuscumbia Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
